theyatehere — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 July 2026 · Contact: hello@theyatehere.com
theyatehere shows restaurants recommended by food creators on YouTube. We collect
as little about you as we can get away with, and none of it is sold or shared for
advertising. No ads, no analytics SDKs, no trackers.
Who we are
theyatehere is operated by Creayate Ltd (company number 16619313), registered at
First floor, Suite 1, 141–143 King Street, Hammersmith, London W6 9JG, United
Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
You can reach us at hello@theyatehere.com.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the
Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
What we collect, and why
- Account (optional). The app works without an account. If you create one,
we store your email address and a hashed password (via Supabase, our database
provider) so your saved places and followed creators sync across devices.
- Saved places & follows. Stored against your account if you have one;
otherwise they stay only on your device.
- Location (foreground only, never stored). With your permission, the app
uses your device location once per session to pick your starting city. It is used
on the device, is not sent to our servers, and is never collected in the
background. Denying permission just means you pick a city manually.
- Feedback (optional). If you send feedback, we store the message, an
optional star rating, your app version and platform, and — if you're signed in —
your email so we could reply. Deleting your account unlinks your identity from any
feedback permanently.
What we don't do
- No advertising, ad identifiers, or sale of data.
- No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
- No background location, contacts, photos, or microphone access.
Third-party services
- Supabase hosts our database and authentication.
- Google Maps renders maps in the app; Google's collection through the
Maps SDK is described in the Google
Privacy Policy.
- YouTube. Restaurant recommendations are sourced from public YouTube
videos; the app shows video thumbnails served by YouTube and links you to the
videos themselves. Use of YouTube content is subject to the
YouTube Terms of Service.
Deleting your account and data
Profile → Delete account removes your account, saved places and follows
immediately and permanently. Feedback you sent is kept for product improvement but
is permanently stripped of your email and account link at the same moment. You can
also email us at the address above to request deletion.
Data retention & security
Account data is kept until you delete your account. Traffic to our servers is
encrypted in transit (TLS). Data is stored with Supabase in the EU/US depending on
region.
Creators
theyatehere links to public YouTube videos and attributes recommendations to
the creators who made them, always with a link to the original video. If you are
a creator and would prefer your content not be referenced here, email us at the
address above and we will remove it promptly.
Children
theyatehere is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect
data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update this page and the date above.
